There are two reward currencies awarded: Points and Medals. Medals are not consumed when purchasing items, while points are consumed.

• 1 medal for each Perfect Tackle you are the first to discover
• 1 medal for each 2 Perfect Tackles you found, but were not the first to discover (rounded down)
• Total of 6 Medals possible per game

Points are earned based on a variety of criteria for game performance (all values are rounded down):

• Fish Caught:
  • 1 point for catching 25 fish
  • 1 point for each additional 5 fish after 25 fish, up to a maximum of 4 points (45 fish total)
  • Total of 5 possible points
• Big Fish:
  • 1 point per 6 reels at a Big Fish, up to 6 points total (36 total reels)
    • If the Big Fish is not successfully caught, the number of reels awarded is reduced by 60%
• Fish Weight:
  • 1 point per 450 weight, up to 20 points (9,000 total weight)
• Biggest Fish:
  • 1 point per 70 weight, up to 3 points (a fish with 210 weight)
• Perfect Tackles:
  • 1 point per Perfect Tackle found (up to 6 total)
  • 1 point if you've found 3 or more Perfect Tackles
  • 1 point if you've found all 6 Perfect Tackles
  • 1 point per Perfect Tackle you were the first to find (up to 6 total)
  • 1 point if you were the first to find 3 or more Perfect Tackles
  • 1 point if you were the first to find all 6 Perfect Tackles
  • Total of 16 possible points

Thus, the maximum possible points earned from a game of Fishing Contest is 50, and requires:

• Catch 45 fish
• Acquire a total weight of 9,000
• Reel at a Big Fish 36 times
• Catch a fish with at least 210 weight
• Be the first to find all 6 Perfect Tackles
